Call center investigators

There is absolutely zero percent this is true.

I would love for this to be true, but curious to know why they just don’t issue a mandate now and start penalizing contractors that do the work remote?

I suspect the hiring of f/t investigators is due to the rebid for the contract, everyone wants to say they have the most FIs on the contract.

Just my opinion..I don’t think issues with investigations have anything to do with things being done in person vs remotely. I believe the bigger issue is really the disconnect between fieldwork and review expectations. It would be much easier to “Investigate” and not have SUBJ’s “Control the investigations/providing all the leads” if every small detail wasn’t an easy “Discrepancy”.

If DCSA and review didn’t require every listed detail to be corroborated so “perfectly”, we’d be able to conduct better field work rather than being in a race to get information that aligns with the questionnaire. Even if a Source doesn’t know the person that well and they provide a wrong date for something or can’t corroborate all the specifics of an issue or citizenship details..now a person has discrepancies or potential honesty concerns on their case. I think it’s just a disconnect there.

As far as SUBJ’s..I haven’t noticed much of a difference doing the interviews via Zoom. It’s still the same information we’re going over in the interview. & I’m able to get a lot more done without the commute, which is super helpful being 1099. If I was W2 & getting paid regardless of what gets submitted & when..I wouldn’t mind lol.

Agreed. Love, love, love working from home and hated being in the field doing a song and dance trying to get people to cooperate. Don’t have to buy clothes or be concerned of what I look like since 20 people won’t be staring at me when I go to an office, which I hated. I’m currently working a large case with double digit sources with Subject providing all the leads. All those leads seem to know just what to say, and just happen to say all the right things to the date, and they really like Subject a lot. Is it possible to all be true—yes, is it probable with that many sources—no. In all good conscience, is it a good idea even though it’s super chill staying home talking on the phone all day? Yes it’s true nothing much comes from the SI but the “investigation” comes when fieldwork doesn’t match the sworn SI. Oh well I’ll just shut it and enjoy the ride until the next important, life seizing upper mgt mandate is christened and the pendulum swings the other way. Tell me I"m wrong without telling me I’m wrong.

Oh ok..I haven’t really had circumstances like that. Never had everything corroborated perfectly lol. Now that does seem fishy especially if they weren’t present or directly involved in the issue.

But I do think Sources have been much easier to obtain remotely. Sources never care as much because it’s not their case or clearance. So getting them to take time to meet me somewhere or take the time in general was a lot & I believe it was overwhelming/intimidating for some Sources as well (especially if they’re not employment sources at a current EMPL). & ppl like me who live in major cities where traffic is 24/7.. it has been so much more productive. I’m glad everything is remote right now while gas prices are out of control

It would not explain the jobs currently posted for a call center in Tampa.

I wonder if the two Primes will use 1099 investigators for the in person attempts once call centers are fully established.
