# Current timeline for DBIDS 180-Day Base Access Manual Waiver at NRL?

Hi all,

I’m looking for insights regarding the current processing timeline for a **DBIDS 180-day temporary base access manual waiver** at **Naval Research Laboratory (NRL Washington, DC)** as of current (October 2026).

**Context:**

- **Background:** Non-felony / Misdemeanor disposition (PBJ in MD, fully resolved over 2.5 years ago). No felony convictions, no NSOR issues (not a Hard Bar).

- **Status:** Initial DBIDS screening completed on **09/29** with **No RFI requested** , and the package was forwarded to SJA/Command review for a manual waiver under a strong sponsor **Mission Need**.

- **Current situation:** Reached out to the Senior PI (sponsor) on 10/19, who confirmed they requested a status update from NRL Security and are currently awaiting the official determination.

Given the FY27 administrative backlog/transition period, is a **3 to 5-week processing window** typical for Command Waiver signatures at NRL right now? Any recent experience or timeline feedback would be greatly appreciated!
