Ya, according to you…
Because no one on this forum ever lies about the things that can impact their clearance…
They just whine and blame the system and say stupid things like “it’s a popularity contest.”

One person saying something derogatory does not keep you from getting cleared. I have had one person say something here or there over the years. I had one person claim I cheated in college which I was able to prove was incorrect and then my MOTHER, my own flesh and blood, told my investigator that I was crazy because she was mad at me when she was interviewed. My former neighbor said I had bad judgment and did not deserve to have my children. I always request my records to see what people said and it is quite eye opening. One persons opinion is not going to cause a problem. The problem comes when MULTIPLE people give the same complaint and the issue becomes corroborated through different sources. That is when it may effect your clearance. Now if there is a record of events that is an entirely different situation. It is no longer hearsay at that point. One claim with no record does not equal a denied clearance and anyone who says different is hiding something. Multiple sources saying the same thing is not a popularity contest, it’s a issue you should talk to your therapist about, just sayin.

Thanks for the laugh!!! If it was a popularity contest, I wouldn’t of have had a clearance for the last 25 plus years.

It’s actually based on a clean record, both criminal and professional. Based on your provided information you have issues in your background. Working in a cleared field is NOT for everyone and is NOT a right.

Actually, Amber it involved one particular job. Yes, those contacted unfortunately had an axe to grind. It was basically a situation of frustrated persons who were basically white trash (albeit at a university) being allowed to formulate recommendations about a student employee who was applying for a position which called for having an advanced degree. Yes, I certainly would say that it was a situation very much of someone not fitting in. Unfortunately, since the casual part-time employment in question was “developed” as well as current, it attracted undue attention from the investigators.

The only issues involved were the derogatory comments made by a group of uneducated coworkers (basically white trash) at a “developed” employment situation.

There was no record; it merely involved oral comments by a group of uneducated support employees. Since the employees all knew each other, their accounts all carried an unfortunate degree of coincidence. BTW, I was never afforded a chance to “prove” or disprove the veracity of their remarks. yes, eye opening is a very accurate description of the process!

So now it’s a race issue. Makes sense. The new standard of 2022.

Sorry, I’m a year late here. I never received a letter or cared to follow up with the agency as I’m working in another industry and doing quite well. But a buddy of mine got a similar letter yesterday, so it encouraged me to come back to this thread. A major development is that the Russian public diplomacy program I was apart of was apart of an FSB op. FBI just a few weeks ago put a warrant out for the arrest of the lady who runs the public diplomacy program. So I’m thinking this is the smoking gun as to why I didn’t get in, and good thing the feds tipped me off as it gave me ample time to request to have my name removed from their public diplomacy website. While I was not reached out to by any Russian to do anything, moreso just developed friends/contacts, the agency doesn’t know that and maybe didn’t want to take the risk.
