I was laid off from my job in april 2015 i had a secret clearance with this job. I am trying to get another job with security clearance, is my clearance still active when they check my background information? Or will I have to re-apply?

When you leave a position that required a clearance you are supposed to be debriefed and the clearance is administratively withdrawn. If you obtain employment within 24 months they can reactive the clearance if it meets the level needed.
