I am currently on a payment plan for 2022 taxes owed. I also applied for a low risk non sensitive position on a military based and am filling out an SF85. Am I considered delinquent on federal taxes even with a payment plan? Will this stop me from getting a CAC?

There is nothing to worry about if you filed your taxes and set up a payment plan. This would be the same advice I would give to a clearance applicant.

Be sure to have all relevant documentation on hand, this is likely to invite some additional scrutiny. Financial considerations are a major concern but nothing gets their attention like federal income tax irregularities.

I agree with @Marko should not be an issue as long as you are current with the payment plan, but have those records handy 🙂

Thank you guys! For a low tier position that I applied for will there be a credit check due to my federal tax situation? Should I bring my letter from the IRS confirming the payment plan?
