PSI needed for moderate risk PT?

Is a personal subject interview needed for a moderate risk suitability investigation? If so, who decides whether the interview is needed or not, the investigator or the agency?

Whether a PSI is needed is up to the agency. Agencies with delegated authority make their own decisions regarding PSI. Some agencies require PSI for all personnel for all tiers.

Thanks. I asked the agency security office and they said depends on DCSA and the investigator.

There are certain thresholds in all cases, to include the moderate risk public trust investigation, that when reached, will cause DCSA to schedule a subject interview. It might be a certain delinquent financial amount or an arrest listed on the case papers. There’s a list somewhere about what activities would trigger a subject interview.
