# rejected TS/SCI with active security clearance

Could a rejected TS/SCI (or a SOR) affect an active secret clearance with current job?

Absolutely. It’s not “Can”, it will affect it. They both use the same parameters.

Not necessarily. If there is evidence of not meeting standards of conduct? Yes. Those type will “rat back” to other agencies clearance systems. If the holder of the SCI is not comfortable with a foreign connection previously reported? No it wont affect it. In my 9 plus years supporti g a 3 letter agency maybe 2 times did they allow a person to step down to Secret from TS/SCI/POLY. We had over 370 FTEs, pushed 10 to 20 clearance packages weekly just to maintain positions. So less than .25% But if it is another agencies clearance for SCI, it will not absolutely impact current.
