I am applying for a gov. contract job and need a secret clearance. I had a secret clearance before when I was active duty and expired in 2020. Since I got out there has been a couple of things that I am worried about that has happened that may affect this clearance. I am looking for advice to see if I can get one or not.

Factors:

- 3 years ago, my stepson claimed I hit him when I didnt but was arrested for misdemeanor domestic assault but the charges were dropped.
- one year ago I self-admitted for a week of rehab at the Va for alcohol use. I am currently going to mental health and substance abuse counseling and have been sober.

will these factors keep me from getting a security clearance
