As mentioned before, look into the BOP. Easy to get hired, in need of people, and they ARE law enforcement. They are federal law enforcement officers and they do have arrest authority within their jurisdiction (on prison grounds, for example a visitor tries to bring a gun). They do not normally use their arrest authority since their detainees would have to be given to another fed (FBI, Marshals, etc) who are usually busy with other things. They do have federal law enforcement retirement and if you are wanting to get hired into another fed law enforcement position then BOP is going to give you the LEO experience where as DCSA will not. I am speaking from experience because I was formerly federal law enforcement. If you are looking to be law enforcement then DCSA is a waste of your time. The only reason I do it is medical limitations.
