Background Investigator no more!

Any chance you can break down how your perfromance was measured at DCSA?

What were some of the requirments?

What were the goals for weighted testimonies a day, ACD’s, quality and did these change as you moved up in grade?

Thanks!

I believe ACDs were 90%, quality was 98% and performance was based on EMH, as we were told, did not stand for Estimated Man Hours, which was a convoluted formula that little understood. It is now moot anyway, from what I hear. GS 9s had lessor metrics to meet than GS 12s but I dont recall the specifics. Weighted sources per day were not a hard metric, although it could be used as part of an overall evaluation. Days In Process, write offs, phone testimones, were also all tracked and used in your overall performance eval.

Good deal!!outstanding to read. A good work environment is life changing.

Hey Fed-Investigator, I’m looking to switch agencies as well. Are you able to tell us what agency you switch to?

Switched to ICE but Homeland is huge and has lots of opportunities.

What position? Is it 1810? Trying to look for another 1810. Thanks!

Believe is 1801, look at both 1801 and 1802 positions.

Thank you. I will keep on eye on it. Does it go to a 13?

Yes, it does but I had to go back to a 9 to get it.

Hey I had a question would a non violent assault and battery conviction disqualify me from getting into the fbi and top secret clearance?

Details. Its all in the details. How long ago, with whom? What extent? With a domestic partner? Dues paid? If it was 20 years prior, no other recurrence, yes it is possible. Last week? That hill got a whole lot steeper.

Well, time for the one year update.

Any guesses? lol

I am a Background Investigator once again!

I missed my Gold Badge and Ivory Tower!

The DHS job was great but going from a 12 to a 9 was just too much of a pay cut. I ate it for a year and gave it the best shot I could but it didn’t pan out.

I am back with good old DCSA, my office is going to look like a Staples store again. Oh well.
