MBI Clearance and Debt settlement program

Hi everyone, i see that this topic is popping up time to time. My financial issues started around 4 years ago when we suddenly lost our son 15 y/o due to suicide and faced unexpected burial services (and now i am talking only about financial side let alone phycological issues). Those services were around 20K with place in a seminary and funeral home expenses. at that time we just got our apartment and also were in the middle of some renovations. After our son perished there were a lot of medical bills from my second son’s counseling therapist and my wife’s counseling therapist. All of this snowballed on credit cards and I finally had to sign in for Debt relieve program . I was laied off recently but found this employer which works with IRS and they require MBI clearance (Minimal background Investigation it is called i think) . I passed the interview and they want me. What are my chances of obtaining the clearance? Or i should not even try?

Thanks a lot
Deniss

Bump. Any comments would be welcomed

I doubt anyone here is going to hazard a guess of your chances, there are too many unknowns (FTR, I’m an investigator, not an adjudicator, so I am not qualified to guess your chances).

That being said, why not try? If you decide to move forward be prepared to discuss, in detail, what occurred. A timeline, any documentation you have, specific details of what, when, why, etc.

Good luck.

Thanks for answering. I just thought if somebody who performs those tasks would give me a hint. I of cause could resolve most of those debt issues but for that now i would need to cannibalize my 401k which for me is a last resort.
