Polygragh and Adjudication Question

On knowledge and belief, If they have some reason they do not want to hire you (a disability, PTSD, etc.), they WILL use this to disqualify you, especially if they have another person they would like to put in that job (the friends and family plan at the Secret Service for instance.).

Yes. If you have any Amplifying information like proof bills are paid if it was finances, bring that.

I am looking for a little guidance. I applied for a contracting background investigation position and underwent the background process for a top secret clearance. When I completed it, I was told I had a favorable adjudication. The company then advised that their training has been postponed for the time being. The training would credential me with the clearance. My question is, is there any other way I can obtain the credential? I am new to this; I am a former State Law Enforcement Detective, but not a military veteran. Thank you for any input and information.

Will this be for an on-site position with a government agency? If so, it sounds like you need to attend some kind of orientation before you can get briefed and activate your clearance. Those orientations and briefings may be on hold during the shutdown.

You could try to find a different job but that might take as long as waiting out this shutdown. If you decide to go this route, see if you can find the date of your investigation. That makes you “eligible” for Top Secret and other companies may be able to pick that up.

Thank you. The job is a 1099 back ground investigator for a government contracting company. So, not the actual government, but I’m sure the shut down isn’t helping things move along. My background and favorable adjudication was done in the last few months, so it’s recent.
Any suggestions what to do with the favorable adjudication without the

Clearance. Are there jobs that I would be eligible for or do I have to wait until I complete the full training to activate my clearance. I am retired from the State of CT and just looking to find another job. Still young and want to work.

Thanks for any information.

Matt

I’m not an investigator but there are many who frequent these forums. Hopefully some of them will have some ideas.

Great.. thank you for the information. Have a great rest of the day.

I think they can’t add you to the government contract right now as there is no money, or fed civs to push it through. Once furlough ends and a week of catch up, they shoukd be able to bring you in. It’s true you must sign in for clearance eligibility, get read in, etc

Thank you. I appreciate the information. Trying to navigate everything.
