This has been going on for years and nobody will do anything about it. U.S. Military recruiters are telling applicants to LIE. Just look in the /r/securityclearance sub on Reddit and search for terms like “recruiter” and “lie.” Here are a few examples from recent to going back years:

I’m surprised there have been no federal charges filed on these recruiters. Anyone have insight into this?
If I had a dollar for every time a Subject in the military said “My recruiter told me to answer that question that way on my SF 86” when I conducted their ESI, I could have retired years ago. When the military member would say this, I would get their recruiters name rank and phone number and send a case message for possible falsification by the recruiter up to DCSA. Who knows if any investigation or action was taken against the recruiter. I would also include in my ROI that the Subject indicated their recruiter advised them to answer the question the way it was answered on the SF 86 and include the recruiters name and rank. With it in the ROI, it now is an official document showing the recruiter told Subject to falsify and answer on their SF 86.
Military recruiters turn over every few years and there is no real accountability. Everyone knows about the inconsistencies and problems in this system for decades. However, having nationwide exact standards and procedures doesn’t mean they will be implemented identically throughout the nation. Compare it to McDonald’s restrooms all over the country. I’m sure they all have the same exaacting standards of sanitary guidelines…but we all know the reality from restaurant to restaurant is VERY different.
