SF85P drug/alcohol/police record disclosure question

Hello! I am looking for guidance on how to approach my current situation. In the next few weeks I will have to complete the SF85P for Public Trust Clearance and have a few questions:

  • I have a DUI and several other associated misdemeanors from February of 2017, do these need to be disclosed seeing as it is October of 2024 now?
  • As part of the form regarding receiving treatment for illegal drugs/alcohol, I participated in a program in late 2017-mid 2018 in order to get these misdemeanors expunged, is this considered seeking voluntary treatment or advised treatment?
  • While I received treatment, I had already stopped using drugs in February 2017 after being arrested. How should I navigate disclosing my drug use given that I went to treatment while not using drugs?
  • The program that I went to is now closed, will this be a disqualifier if they cannot verify my completion of the program?

Really I am hoping none of this complicates my clearance process but am very unsure as to how to proceed. Any advice here would be great!

Thanks!

Have you read the instructions yet? Most of the answers to your questions are already there. Follow the instructions very LITERALLY and strictly.

Thanks for sending this along! I have already reviewed it but am combing back through. Just to be clear I’m asking specifically about when the 7 years they’re asking for kicks off, is it from the day the sheet is signed (let’s say I signed today so 10/6/17) or for the entirety of 2017-2024. There is no indication to the best of my knowledge on the form.

It’s from the day you sign.

The other end often gets people. The 7 year window doesn’t end the day an issue started, but the day it ended or was resolved.
For example, DUI 2/13, judgement 1/14, completed court requirements to include probation 2/16 - then 2/16 is the date you have to look at for the time period.
This is also used for financial issues. It’s not the date of the delinquency that starts the 7 year window but the date the debt was resolved/paid.
