What is the Golden Timeframe for Hard Drug Use Mitigation?

I know no amount of time is infallible or whatever but in your guy’s experiences, what is the usual time frame that would successfully mitigate frequent heavy drug use? Provided there is zero criminal history related to it of course. 2+ years? Looking at military.

What kind of military job (MOS, AFSC, rating) are you looking at? Some jobs require a Top Secret clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). At the very least, your investigation could be slowed down. Some jobs may require no clearance at all.

The recruiter may try to get to you to lie on the forms; don’t go for it.

If it has been 2+ years in your case then you “should” be OK. I hear some crazy short timelines but probably those are for infrequent short term use. “Frequent heavy drug use” is best mitigated by time (as you note) but also by establishing a good track record of responsible behavior, such as good work history, good credit record, and the zero criminal history as well.

Hey, I appreciate the response. The MOS in question would be 35W. It’s only a placeholder MOS and transitions into 35P or 35M. I absolutely do not want to lie as there is a CI polygraph involved. I just don’t know if certain substances are dealbreakers even with experimental, single-use years ago. I cannot find any information on Army suitability.
