I was speaking with a colleague , and their understanding was assigned cases prior to 05/16 will be completed under covid protocol. Anything assigned after 05/16 will be in person. But who knows. You would think that would be the smartest way to go about it but…
We’ve received the same guidance. Looks like that will be the way to handle current units assigned.
Paragon received notice at 3:33pm that everything with an SD of 5/16 and after will be in person.
It’s because we’ve been waiting on DCSA.
You’ve hit the nail on the head! In a nutshell, that is the problem - “waiting on DCSA”. Not to get too long-winded, however, DCSA SAs know what they are going to be doing on Monday. CAC seems to be the most confused. Sure, the "Customer’’ doesn’t really give a rip about what the Contractor does - just get the work done. However, there are ways to manage the situation much better. In the beginning ask DCSA - “How are your SAs going to be doing ESIs?” Answer was “via VTC”. Oops…that is too expensive for us… and it goes downhill from there. If CAC wasn’t so scared of losing the contract, they could actually have a realistic relationship with the “Customer”. It seems like CAC is the worst at figuring out stuff, as KRL (the code still used by Peraton/Perspecta/KeyPoint…see Gov’t don’t care about your fancy name changes) and Paragon/SCIS/Securitas (- what is their code?) have given out more direction.
@mdguy I believe the entire industry needs to be flipped upside down and that is why once I get my foot in the door with the customer, I plan to rise to the top and create a better system, more streamlined system where government and contractor are working in perfect harmony. You are right that the info from the customer has been lacking but their leadership is to blame. Then the contractor leadership is to blame for not pressing for it. Change is coming my friend. Give me some time.
Who? The military is back. DHS is back. Most other 3 letter are back.
That is exactly how I was assigned cases. Got them 2 days ago and they will be done in less than 2 weeks all remote.
Our guidance is all ESI/TESIs must be VTC or in person. Everything else can be done by phone/fax upon source requests/convenience. Everything we have assigned to us as of Friday can still be done by phone but all assignments going forward are in person eligible. Nothing regarding scheduling dates, just assignment dates. So all the out of state ESIs, I was assigned last week can still be done by phone next week.
Which company are you with?
The west coast at CACI have yet to receive specifics going forward. I wonder if all contracting agencies follow the same field guidelines?
Last notification was an email earlier afternoon this recent Friday stating all items assigned as of 05/16 and on are to be worked in person. Supposedly the grey area questions will be answered in further DCSA guidance tomorrow…
