How much meaning does interim hold?

I’m going through an upgrade from S to TS and have been extremely concerned about the process. I submitted my SF86 and received an interim TS with a new incident in my forms.

Effectively, while going through the S investigation I took a non scheduled prescription medication once that wasn’t prescribed to me but one that a Dr had already recommended to me but I was never prescribed it, I declined the prescription at the time (I have Dr notes to prove this). I took the medication from a family member’s prescription to try it and stopped. This is a cosmetic medication so has no mental effects and zero recreational value. I never reported this, I never thought of it at all up until I was sitting infront of the upgrade paperwork. I reported it to be honest. The incident is now 3.5 years ago.

I’m really concerned about this. How much comfort can I take from the fact that I received an interim? Everyone around me seems to think this is not a big deal, investigator chuckled when talking about the incident. Am I worrying for no reason?

If it’s from and IC agency, they will absolutely use it against you these days, They did that to me even though i reported i took something just once for anxiety due to a panic attack because i didn’t have my eds on me.

Not to scare you, but interms mean close to nothing. They are easy to ignore. I’m not even sure if you get an SOR with interms. The most important question is "was there an incident report put into your file in SC or DISS?
