Polygraph Experiences

I would love to read more about prospective CI employees and their positive experiences with polygraphs. Most of the posts on hear sound like people with stuff to hide.

lol based on what exactly? On what the polygrapher grills us about? If so, thats bs and everyone is “guilty” of something for that process. The only positive poly experiences are when you are done with it and get cleared.

“I loved my polygraph appointment” - said no one ever.

are you a polygraph examiner lol? I second RandomMan’s thoughts. It’s a bs script and they will gaslight you until the test is over. You can be clean and forthright and they will still dig into you cuz that’s their job. It’s not pleasant but ymmv depending on the examiner and their blood sugar levels that day.

You might enjoy the stories of the shiny happy people in an NSA-produced video titled “The Truth About the Polygraph.” You can watch it here, with my less shiny, less happy commentary:

I can tell you its nothing like you see on TV. 4 to 6 hours in the seat. Dealing with the gaslighting? Aggravating to say the least. Having 4 over 9 years I have nothing to hide. Confessed to taking government pens home, printing stuff like directions for personal use…shoplifting at age 3 from the front of a buggy…
