Random drug test resignation

Ive worked in DOD past couple months and had a CAC card and everything. ( my apologies of i type anything confusing first federal job ive had ). But i had a drug test and ofcourse failed it. I resigned aftwr talking with the MRO officer and he gave me 72 hours to provide paperwork to submit 2nd trst from 2nd specimen. I just wanted to know since i resigned right after apeaking woth MRO officer will it appear on my record . I did tell HR im resigninf for family health reasons. And also i got a positive because i worked 60 hours and for some dumb reason decided to use a very very minimum amount of :snowflake: . I thought i might have been good becauae my random test happened 7 days after i used. Would really appreciate any info. Long story short 1. I took a drug test. 2. Department contacts me to talk to MRO officer, and i spoke woth MRO office who informed me i tested for :snowflake: and also pain pill for which i had paperwork from hospital . But since i tested for :snowflake: to i just put in my resignation for family health issues

What is your question exactly? Yes, it will appear on your record. No, it will not go away.

Yes, this will be a significant issue if you proceed to apply for future federal jobs or obtain a security clearance. And, if you currently hold a clearance, expect it to be suspended and revoked. You should start polishing up your resume and looking for a new job.

Just wanted to know even though someone resigned after taking a random drug test does it still show up if they cite personal reasons when resigning ? And how can check if my security clearance is revoked yet or no ? Its only been 2 days since i resigned

Have not heard of this particular situation, but have heard of cases where an individual cites one reason for resigning but the company, when contacted by the investigator, gives a different reason. Some companies say as little as possible due to liability concerns, but if it is a defense contractor they are likely to be more forthcoming.

What is MRO?

Your employer’s security officer is required to submit an incident report that you had a positive drug test. This report is entered into the appropriate government security clearance database. If you were affiliated with DoD, the report would go into your DISS record and your clearance status would change to “Loss of Jurisdiction.” The government cannot revoke your security clearance without providing procedural due process in accordance with E.O. 12968. If you were not affiliated with DoD, what happens now depends on the government agency’s procedures.
