I defaulted on my student loans a few years ago and then worked with the Department of Education to get out of default and am now current on an income based repayment plan. How can this affect my SF - 86 for Secret clearance?
Just be able to answer the reason you defaulted, when you entered the payment plan, the terms of the plan, and if you have any type of proof that you are complying with the terms and your account is in good standing, that helps too.
