Sometimes when sources are recontacted during the normal yearly IA recheck followup process, they automatically think they must have said something wrong the first time and get nervous. After all why would someone be recontacting them if the previous responses were correct? So they provide different answers to the followup person to try and get the right answer and stay out of trouble or get people to leave them the hello alone. Then the Investigator gets accused of doing something wrong.
UPDATE: So DCSA sent a request to my security office e to have me fill out an SF86. Iâm assuming itâs because my clearance was suspended and they canât just undo it they will complete a T5R on me . Anyone know if Iâm assuming correctly?
Update: The company I worked for âCâ terminated me after 2 months of suspension without pay , reason was violating said companyâs business ethics . I requested supporting documentation and have not received a response. Guessing I will never be able to work in this industry again . ?
Have you applied for unemployment? If unemployment denies you can fight it out in an unemployment hearing and theyâll have to provide the reason for termination. If you were terminated from the DCSA you might still have a chance elsewhere with DHS or intel. Problem is there just no work and this industry is dying.
Sounds like they used your suspension as a reason to get rid of you because right now the background investigation field is overloaded with too many investigators and not enough work to go around.
My friend was a subcontractor for Caci and she an her whole team were laid off saying there wasnât enough work. I was on the contract 8.8 years when I got suspended. But I do have a feeling my lewd wanted me gone as we didnât get along very well. Iâll enjoy the holidays a worry about it later . Thanks for the input!
your welcome! I wouldnât take it personally. Iâve been doing this work for almost 23 years and these companies are never loyal to the investigators. I foresee lots of investigators being let go in the near future and theyâre going to target the ones who make the most money. When was your friends team laid off?
My friendâs team was laid off about the middle of September . Itâs crazy to me how I can be loyal but they questioned my integrity and then decided to just throw me away.
Being âthrown awayâ is a common practice in this industry. Some companies are worse at it than others.

My manager claimed he do not know what was going on . Allegedly DCSA did the investigation but Iâm wondering why DCSA didnât contact me with this findings . Caci just wanted to cover this own butts is what I feel like . Florida is a fire at will state so no point in trying to drag this out even though I know I did nothing wrong .
it sounds like DCSA decided you did something or they think you did something you they donât agree with and have decided they donât want you on the contract anymore. CACIâs hands are tied if DCSA wonât allow you to work on their contract. Try fighting for unemployment benefits and see where it gets you.
Honestly I really think my regional manager has been trying to find a way to get rid of me , we did not get along and my team lead hardly ever had my back . . I asked for all supporting documentation to be sent to me for the investigation and all I got sent was my termination letter , document not eligible for rehire and the Caci guidance for Business code of ethics . So it leads me to believe DCSA had little to do with this .
Caci told me to file for unemployment . So there is that. They sent a notice through the employee portal advising me on how to file.
