Can failing a polygraph revoke your clearance?

For someone who already has a security clearance, if they take and fail for whatever reason a polygraph, does that revoke the clearance they already have?

I ask this, because I know polygraphs aren’t even admissible in court, so I’m so confused as to why they are used for security clearances in the first place.

It depends on why you fail. If you admit to killing somebody or doing drugs while having a clearance then probably. If you fail because you are not good at the exam then maybe not.

Yes, failing a polygraph can definitely lead to revocation of your security clearance, whether or not you make any admissions.

Yes it can absolutely affect your clearance by either getting it suspended or revoked.
