When they say don’t list “family” that actually means immediate family. (mom, dad, siblings, children, spouse) Listing distant cousins, aunts, etc. aren’t usually an issue.

Listing him wasn’t the best.
It’s lying on an official government document you should be worried about.
You can always play dumb like everyone else or blame it on the other you.

Don’t sweat it too much. My assumption is you didn’t list your mom or dad, if you just listed a relation of some sort it’s really not a big deal. Large distantly related family units often don’t have a lot of outsider social references.
Everyone lists a “safe bet.”
Not to worry; the investigator will get more references.
