I received my clearance from NSA, then was placed on the Cleared Candidate List. I was able to get a contractor position, who’s client is the NSA. I was recently told by the contactor that it could be several months before the client reviews and approves everything. Anyone been through something like this?

Yeah, unfortunately. Even though you were cleared and adjudicated through the employee channel, now you’ve got to go through the contractor channel. Yes I’m serious. The customer may also need to approve you for the position before that process can even begin. And that’s without all the current craziness going on.
A few months might be a more extreme timeline, but not unheard of.
I appreciate the insight. A few months did sound a little extreme, so I am hoping it’s much quicker. I was thinking that it may be to my advantage that NSA issued the clearance and they are the contractors client. Fingers crossed!
I am on the Cleared Candidate List as well. Did your contractor position require an active/transferable clearance prior to the start date or just the ability to obtain/maintain a clearance?

As far as I know, they just wanted one that was transferable.
