Remember it wasn’t so long ago when NBIS was supposed to be the one-stop-shop for personnel security functions. What a waste. I wonder who Peraton knew to get the contract to build NBIS only for it to be scrapped?
@Marko Can you please help clarify - is the article suggesting the PVQ will replace the SF-86 for all vetting scenarios sometime in 2027? The latest Trusted Workforce 2.0 Progress Report indicates September 2027 as the date when the PVQ will be used for all vetting scenarios.
Yes, after the initial investigation is done for a clearance all additional vetting is done through Continuous Vetting and the PVQ update.

@Marko I should have been more precise. Is the late 2026/early 2027 target date your article mentions in reference to the PVQ replacing the SF-86 for initial investigations, or something else? I’ve read elsewhere the PVQ will replace the SF-86 for initial investigations (“The SF 86 will be replaced by Parts A, B, and C of the PVQ.”) I’m wondering if that will occur in late 2026/early 2027, September 2027 as indicated in the 2026Q3 Trusted Workforce 2.0 Quarterly Report, or some time later. Thanks.
Yes, those are the target dates, and the PVQ is replacing all SF 85, 85P and 86 forms. Depending on the level of investigation will determine which parts of the PVQ you will need to fill out.
