DCSA details new plan for next-gen background investigation system

DCSA’s new plan for NBIS includes a 36-month product roadmap. The goal is to retire legacy background investigation systems, including PIPs, by fiscal 2027.

Here’s a link to the article (I find it hard to tell there’s a link in these posts):

So this will replace DISS or whatever JPAS became? DoD was already working on this before they re-absorbed the OPM investigation mission… I think.

I won’t be sad to see PIPS go… it’s such a cranky pain in the backside.

Looks like they are doing a revamp to the Personnel Security Questionnaire (PSQ) and renaming it the Personnel Vetting Questionnaire (PVQ). I heard rumors about a PSQ revamp back in 2023, and this PVQ is going to be a beast to fill out because it will require more information, which is necessary though. DISS is still young, so I would hope that DCSA does ot can it. We were still waiting for them to enable the DOD ID search function on it when I was working as a Security Manager. At that time, the only way to look up folks was to use their social security number or look under their SMO Code. More stuff to hit the books over and learn.
