Does anyone have insight if members of the hiring pool pre hiring freeze are still being considered, or who to even contact to find out?
I will say that for deferred DIA interns, we are in the last stages of the onboarding process with FJOs confirmed to begin being sent out within the next few months.
When we were off boarded they didn’t provide any details on where/who to refer folks to for this. Some of the folks whose interviews and investigations I’ve done still reach out to me to inquire about this and I feel bad that I have no information to provide.
When my CJO was frozen due to the hiring freeze, no one told interns whether our clearances was adjudicated. I only found out through calling the SC hotline and also through my new industry FSO who informed me. DIA tend to have a reputation to not notify applicants if they got their clearance until they officially receive the FJO.
Unfortunately many agencies won’t actually notify folks when the clearance is adjudicated or when the investigation closes. Unlike DIA most agencies give interims so that ppl can start working while the investigation goes on in the background& if it’s unfavorably adjudicated theyll just be terminated from the employer. But it’s crazy that it’s been a year now since I’ve completed some of those interviews. Hopefully folks were able to get other means of income while waiting
DIA does give Interim. What did they tell you?
It could depend on the specific position that you’re going for. But most of the cases I worked were for interns and they had to have everything completed before they could start work. However, the hiring freeze abruptly interrupted that process. So now I’m not too sure what’s happening over there. We were simply told to turn in all materials we had for those cases we worked. Haven’t heard anything since and that was last March.
FWIW, some of the other interns I’ve talked to confirmed that our cases were adjudicated between late Feb-March. OHR just never shared that information. My adjudication only took a week once my BI closed, and coincidentally occurred on the day I traveled outside the country which they were aware of in advance. I only found out about my clearance status through a contractor FSO, and via the Scattered Castles hotline. Since OHR are now emailing deferred interns to finalize their hiring paperwork for this upcoming summer and submit an SF86C, I’d presume it’s safe to assume that those interns (and me) have been cleared.
