Does Making a Restraining Order Against Someone Affect My Security Clearance Application

Hello everyone. I am in the process of getting a security clearance and need to potentially get a restraining order against a now X that has went completely off the rails. I don’t want it to delay my security clearance or cause issues but I also don’t want to keep enduring all of the countless emails, texts and miscellaneous social media harassment she does to me daily. As soon as I block one number she opens another one through Google and the same thing with emails. The level of harassment is unparalleled I’ve never dealt with this before and I’m 54 years old. If I get a restraining order against her will that affect my security clearance approval or should I just ride it out and wait till I get approved and then take action? Any help is appreciated thanks in advance!

I am not an adjudicator, just an investigator, but as I see it you are the victim. How would getting a RO against someone harassing you negatively impact you?

I don’t know, that’s why i was asking. I thought if a civil mater popped up, it could delay the process. I just don’t want any delays is all. Thanks for the input.

If there is a delay due to filing, it would be minor. Primarily the delays occur in getting the case to the investigators and then while waiting for adjudication. Only you can decide if you want to file the restraining order or not.
