FOIA Requests for Background Investigation/Adjudication Records Request Process

Hi All,

When requesting FOIA requests for background investigation (IN100) and Adjudication records (DCSA form 335) is the request reviewed and process by DCSA or the personal security office? Does the local personal security office have visibility into this request at any time?

Only DCSA/OPM can provide you a copy of a closed investigation. Agencies are not allowed to, only summaries of any information they may deem adverse, and they do not have any visibility on who requests their own investigation.
