The New York Times is working on an article about how drug use rules are affecting recruitment and careers in national security. Reporter Ernesto Londoño is interested in speaking to people who have given up on a career in this field, or experienced a recent setback, as a result of a drug test or drug use policies during the recruitment and security clearance process. He’s interested in a broad range of anecdotes that illuminate how employers and job candidates are navigating this issue at a time when marijuana use is increasingly common and legal (at the state level) across the country. The reporter is most interested in speaking to people willing to speak on the record, but will be happy to talk to people who are not in a position to speak publicly as well.
