If SCI is denied, will I lose my clearance?

I recently was a granted my DoD TS clearance after over waiting 3 years. During the wait, I was working under an Interim Secret. I’ve recently had an opportunity to apply for a position that requires a Secret with SCI.

I understand that the requirements for SAP and SCI are more stringent. My background is not super clean, yet I was able to secure the TS. My question is if I apply for this position and am denied the SCI, do I also lose the TS?

Maybe its just me but Ive never heard of a Secert with SCI. Ive only heard of TS w SCI
