Hello, i got schedule to take a battery test for the nsa and was wondering if theres any practice test or guides for computer network assessment test. How would i prepare for this and is there a scoring critera?
They should have emailed you some information on it including some sample questions. It’s a pretty tough test that you can’t really study for, you need a broad range of IT knowledge for that section and need to quickly finish a bunch of raven matrixes, the logical tests. Definitely get familiar with how those are laid out.
As far as technical questions, be familiar with common Linux commands, bitwise operations, how to read a bash or c++ script, general networking protocols and ports, subnetting, etc. Refreshing with a Linux+, Network+, Security+ resource wouldn’t hurt.
Some of the questions are very much in the weeds, but depending on the position you’re applying for, some of the future training will be much harder if hired. Better start digging in now!
Is it alot of questions in general?
It’s a pretty even mix of technical questions, raven matrixes, and behavioral social questions (these you’re most likely familiar with, like “I feel stressed when I’m given too much work”.) I don’t remember exactly how many but expect to take the full time allowed.
Thank you , i’m studying but i was told it most likely going to have linux commands, are the questions like" What is CD OR LS? And is there any study guide you would highly recommend for me.
They should have emailed you a study guide with sample questions.
I’d suggest a study guide for Linux+ or similar for now. If you’re going into a technical position there that requires CNAB, I’d highly recommend reading (and trying to understand) the Windows Internals books (the two-part series) and The Linux System Administrator Handbook. They’re both dense with a LOT of info, but it’s solid background knowledge. I wish I would have read those earlier.
I found a study guide, but did you ever get a cjo or how far did you make it? and how long was the process
After the CNAB you will not get results if you pass/fail. Your recruiter will contact you. The process can be anywhere from 3-12+ months so be patient. Good luck!
