Question regarding drug use for classified clearance

Hi all,

Sorry to bore you with another drug post, but I am continuing an internship I have worked for the past year after graduating and earning my degree, due to the area the company works for I will need to get a security clearance, the only thing I am worried about is my drug use, in which I have used the following

Marijuana - 3 times over the span of about 2021 -2023

Shrooms - 1 time about a year and half ago

Everything else about my background is squeaky clean

If anyone could possibly give me their point of view on how this would be handled during the investigation it would be valued greatly

Any other information I forgot I will provide aswell

I’m sometimes shaky at math but 2023 sounds like it was over a year ago, and the current standard seems to be less than that. It also would seem to qualify as “infrequent use” (as opposed to “chronic”), so based on those two factors I don’t think there is any problem with regard to the marijuana use.

I am not so sure about the mushrooms but again, one time use, over a year ago, nothing since… I would imagine this too will not be a problem.

These comments are for security clearances OTHER THAN LAW ENFORCEMENT, who seem to have their own views on such things, and I’m not as familiar with what they will and will not tolerate from their applicants.
