Hi all, going for a TS/SCI with recent drug use and wanted to hear your thoughts. Am a 23 y/o recent college grad. No red flags except for drug use. Used marijuana once in 2018 and experimental use of Ritalin once in Feb or March 2024 during college. Have disassociated with drug using associates, changed geographies, and am committed to never using again.
This is for a military officer position thru OCS, and the TS/SCI interview would be in December or January.
My thoughts are these: marijuana use is no big deal as it was a few years back and “experimental” one-time use; you may get some questions about how you got your hands on the ritalin. That incident is more recent and may be an issue. Honestly I have no idea how that one will be treated.
Makes sense, the ritalin was given by a friend. “Here try this it’ll help you stay awake” type of a deal. Social pressure/youthful curiosity consumption with no aggravating circumstances.
Just report all and you’ll be fine
