I got offered a dream position for a 10 week internship with DoN and I was promoted to fill out an sf86 and the position stated “Students are required to maintain security clearance eligibility for the duration of the internship.” I have read previous years interns comments that they may require interim clearance for it. I am worried that my past drug use will have an effect on me. To explain, I smoked weed only when offered to me from friends in highschool only on a rare occasion from 2019 till 2021 which was the last time I ever smoked. I also was once offered a small piece of a shroom bar back in highschool. I changed jobs and hung out with them significantly less. I no longer associate with most of them and only talk to a few who stopped their drug use as well. I don’t intend to ever use those again but I am worried that this will till affect my chances of being granted interim or getting clearance at all.
