Suitability investigation, definitions and determinations--a practical inquiry

Can you elaborate about suitability vs. clearance, as in which one is about determining if someone is good for the job? It seems “negligence in employment” is a factor. Also, carelessness. How are both of these points calculated for suitability/federal employment? Thank you.

§731.202 Criteria for making suitability determinations.

“negligence in employment” Gee that could be just about anything I suppose

Based purely on my own wild imagination, you would have to think this would involve a case where due to gross negligence there was some serious damage or loss.

I’ve been reading these forums for a while now and have yet to see someone report that they were found unsuitable because they really screwed up on a previous job. Usually it is finances or drugs.

I have not had this relatively simple question addressed directly with actionable advice for a layman. Is there a professional or even someone who has gone through this process that can help out?

The last sentence was helpful; thank you. Is there anyone on the forum that may have more insight/experience in this matter?

Everyone has different backgrounds and this process is total.

Most professionals on here will not help people like you who ask too many questions. As has been said, it appears you’re trying to game the system.
