We have all read the countless stories posted on this blog site about the interminably lengthy process that some have gone through in processing their background investigations and getting their Top-Secret (TS) clearance abd Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access process. Sometimes this process even involves polygraphs. Want to know how to by-pass it all and…

Just a friendly reminder that the 535 members of the U.S. Congress don’t require clearances at all. No background investigation, no adjudication, nothing. A Congressman could even sit on the HPSCI and date a Chinese spy, for example. Welcome to the way things are.

Elected officlals dont need a clearance because by being elected, they have the inherent trust of the people. Their staff, admin, special government employees, whatever were not elected and should be subject to proper security vetting.

I only voted for 3 of them. I don’t trust the ones I didn’t vote for.

Have previous administrations removed the security clearances of their political enemies in this manner?

By signing their names on a misguided letter motivated by partisanship, Brennan, Clapper, et al. forfeited their right to any moral high ground. The IC is supposed to be apolitical, not barely-veiled fixers for one side. They made their bed, sorry.
