Have there been any actual criminal prosecutions for the act of being untruthful about whether or not one held/holds a security clearance.
I’m referring to false statements simply about holding a clearance, not to instances in which someone was actually hired, or engaged in espionage or other criminal behavior subsequent to being hired…
Yes - falsification during the BI process has been used as part of the process to prosecute clearance holders - both contractors and federal employees.
