A Long Period of Silence After the First Polygraph: Is It a Bad Sign?

Hello,

I’ve been undergoing the clearance process for *** at the Fort Meade, MD.

Is it not uncommon to experience quite a long period (3 month) of silence and uncertainty following all clearance processes, including the background investigation, security interview, psychological assessment, and polygraph (not smooth, though I have nothing to hide ), even after reaching out to my supervisor and colleagues at my current job?

I have regularly reached out to my recruiter to check for any updates. The recruiter repeatly told me, "Additional processing needs to be done on your file. Due to the Privacy Act, I’m not made aware of the specifics of your case while you’re processing and therefore I’m unable to answer what specific processing your file may need at this time. "

Is it a bad sign?

That agency is a ■■■■ show right now, tbh. I dont think it’s a sign one way or the other. They just seem dysfunctional. I would recommend, however, that you reach back out to the scheduling team if the polygraph examiner hinted you will need another one.

They seemingly forgot about me after my first, I emailed the scheduling team and promptly got an invite to schedule another poly.

If you passed the poly on the 1st attempt, then all you can do is wait to see how the process plays out. Everyone and their mother is getting put on cleared candidate lists right now even if they do make it through security.

In a similar boat. ~3.5 months after my poly. During it, I was given the gist of “You’d know if you didn’t pass.” I’ve reached out to my recruiter monthly for updates and have been told I’m still in adjudication. Do you know if you’re in adjudication yet?

MD agency? Recruiter doesn’t tell me anything :sleepy:

Yeah, all I know is I’m in adjudication. My recruiter hasn’t been the most prompt on replying, but at least things are moving. If I hear “no news is good news” one more time, I’m gonna put my head through a wall.

Did you have anything to do with psych? I’m not sure what theyre doing for me lol

I got my psych papers sent in next day, and called the next week to confirm that it’s been taken care of. Sucks that something got lost in transmission for you.

they have them, they just have been dragging their feet

I also reached out to the scheduling team and received a similar response;
“Security is requiring more time on your file. Please check back with us again in a few weeks.”

Ah bummer, was worth a shot! I guess I got lucky. Not like it matters, they never got back to me even after I did my 2nd poly haha.

Dang the app scheduling email actually responds to you? How long did that take
