Accepted Contingent Job Offer That I'm Going to Rescind. The Only Form I've Filled Out So Far is the OF-306. Will Current Employer Still Be Contacted?

I currently work for a contractor at a small federal agency. This past Friday, I accepted a contingent offer from another contractor for a different contract at the same agency. I don’t think any of the forms have been submited yet, but I filled out the OF-306 and the Applicant Request for Investigation Processing forms.

After giving it some additional thought, I don’t feel like the role is a good fit for me and am going to decline the offer. While I don’t believe these forms have been processed yet, if they have, will my current employer still be contacted? Or is that later in the process (once I do eQips)? None of the forms required any information related to my current role, but it is within the same agency.

I’m worried if I rescind the offer, my current employer might still get wind that I was considering leaving.

@Marko replied to my previous question. Perhaps you have some insight. Thanks

Pretty sure it’s later when they start investigating. But not 100% sure.

Having said that, can you please share the name of your employer so I can be sure never to cross paths with them? They sound terrible.
