Update: Offer rescinded
Damn, sorry to hear that. Take that clearance to a contractor.
Jesus christ, im sorry to hear that.
Bad news but thank you for letting the forum know.
Did they say if it might be reinstated at some future time?
She said I will be considered if/when an opportunity comes. But Iām not banking on it
Are you local to the Meade area?
I was not, but I am now lol
ugh! Very sorry to hear that, that fcking sucks. Hope you find something amazing despite this setback.
Definitely a lot of contractor job in the area. I would look into that.
Yes. Talked to Agency recruiter. They are officially on a freeze and even calling candidates that would have had any FJO or CJO up to September.
Even if the freeze ends at the end of April, the Agency is being asked to reduce 2k employees as part of RIF. With all honesty my recruiter says they do not believe anything will change until at least September, if it does at all. My recruiter even thinks her position is not safe.
I was suppossed to be EOD 3/10. Was put on a list of potential hires to be reconsidered due to exempt position (for those potential onboards in March), but the Sec Def has said no to any new hires regardless. So saying that in the Memo that was put out where it could be considered on a case basis for reasons of national security⦠also an obvious lie. I dont like politics, but this administration is going to hurt Fed employment the next 4 yrs.
I feel for those who are also within their 2yr probation time and already working there, because they are next to go.
This will certainly affect federal employment for several years to come. I have given up on any hope of ever starting this job. Unfortunately my current job is time limited and I will need to start searching for jobs all over again before my time is up.
The entire situation is really sad for everyone here.
Heard about a possible RIF but no mention of numbers. Donāt they have to offer some kind of voluntary incentive first? Also, they recently had the ādeferred resignationā so I wonder if that 2K number was determined before or after that.
As far as employees on probation, didnāt that already occur, getting rid of probationary employees?
I dont know about hurting fed employment for four years but definitely an impact in the short term. Just look at all the people on these forums alone reconsidering accepting an FJO from an IC agency.
Personally, whatās been going on the past few months really hasnāt deterred me.
Iāve been employed, and Iāve been on the CCL - I havenāt really banked too much (savings, huge goals, aspirations, etc) on it but nothingās really changed my perspective on being a civilian. I think itās my stage in life mixed with knowing thereās going to be highs and lows.
Lately the majority public sentiment has obviously taken a negative view but Iām viewing things in decades, not the next month or two, so my emotions and general attitude really doesnāt sway too far.
-my 2 cents
Good idea not to bank on it, but donāt be surprised if they reach out to you at some point in the future. If they do, its possible you may need to repeat some processing steps, but keep this in your back pocket for now.
I have seen the memo sent. 8% is the number stated.
Yeah right now just looking for a contractor. Exploring my options
I have been a contractor for a bit not, military before that in the IC. Itās not a bad gig at all. Most contracts are on option years, but they have to mess up bad for those to not get picked up.
Will the CCL expiration date be extended or adjusted to account for the duration of the hiring freeze?
Had my FJO for 3/10 EOD rescinded today, too. Also said I would be up for consideration if or when the hiring freeze ends. However, my suitability expires on 04/11. I donāt know if three weeks gives me enough time to find contractor work. I tried getting into contracting work earlier this year, but was then offered my FJO, so I stopped searching soon after.
Does anyone know if I would still be in JPAS or Scattered Castles for longer than 04/11. When I mentioned this to my recruiter, she made it seem like it was up to the discretion of the agency on whether or not they felt like extending my suitability. She also made it sound like that it was also up to an employer on whether or not they would pursue sponsoring my clearance. For reference, I was adjudicated on 12/18/24, but started the investigation with my psych and poly on 04/11/24.
I just donāt want to come so close to getting my clearance and have it slip through at the last second because my suitability expires in three weeks.
