Cleared Candidate Closeout Notification

Anyone else recently get this email? Said they couldn’t find me a position prior to my suitability expiration, which was the end of July. I guess they are just closing out everyone early since they won’t be hiring anytime soon.

Nothing yet. You’re still eligible until July though, right? So you can go the contractor route?

I guess? I was already able to get a contractor position, which I start soon.

Feel like there’d be a little too much nuance to that broad of a thought of ‘just closing everyone early’ -

First part is what if it only applies to the category of position you were applying for?
An extension of that is what if it only applies to just entry level positions in the category?

Then there’s the timing of your suitability expiration, Four months from now, where others may have expirations in December; to which what if there’s a presumed “at least” timeframe amongst HR personnel that the hiring freeze will go til August?

I guess these are just a few (of possibly many reasons) I probably wouldn’t jump to ‘everyone’-

It’s an interesting update though! Glad to hear you’ve got something lined up!

Who knows what the rhyme or reason is at point. Thank you!

I see. This thread has me feeling a bit unsettled. I haven’t received any such email, but my eligibility is set to expire a few months after yours. I’m really hoping that if I do get this closeout notification in the coming days or weeks, it doesn’t also jeopardize my clearance eligibility. I’ve been working hard to secure a contractor role, but the few opportunities I’ve come close to landing have fallen through due to funding cuts. At this point, I’m just trying to get my foot in the door. Really hoping something pans out soon.

Are you in the Meade area now? Just keep applying, and hopefully something will work out. There seems to be a decent amount of jobs there, even though some may be considered entry level. At least you will have your clearance picked up.

Do you have a FJO with a contractor @terps40?

User LurkerNotLurking mentioned on February 10 this thread that once you have a pending FJO, no other position can offer you a FJO. In their case, it sounded like they may have had multiple offers from NSA. However, it makes sense that NSA would remove you from the CCL if you had a FJO from a contractor and had your clearance transferred to them.

I’m just spitballing here, and hoping I have enough time to lock a position with a contractor.

Yes, I do have a FJO with a contractor. That very well could be why I was removed from the list, but who really knows. If you are local to the Meade area, you should have a lot of contractor opportunities.

I did not get the email but I a cleared candidate waiting on a FJO. I was talking with my recruiter a few days ago and she explained that persuing contracting while I wait would not impact my ability to work with the agency in the future.
