Clearance Crossover Questions (Cleared Candidate List)

Hi,

Just finished interviewing for a contractor waiting for the final offer. I am in a interesting situation: My clearance expires next month (approx 7/7). If my clearance crossover gets initiated before then am I good to go? To be clear I never was sworn in on site, just had my clearance adjudicated then offer cancelled. Was wondering if anyone else was in this situation!

My clearance is from NSA–contractor is with the DoD.
Thank you.

How do you know your clearance will expire after a year?

From my understanding, yes. I am in a very similar boat and have been waiting for my crossover for over a month now, though.

being placed on CCL they give you the expiration date!

It’s possible another agency or contractor would still accept the investigation after that date, but as far as the CCL is concerned they might want to do some updates after a year… not necessarily do the whole thing over again.

A few years back, DIA recognized that many people were languishing in their version of the CCL so they extended the date that the clearance would remain valid.
