Are You Experiencing Security Clearance Processing Delays?

Moving along. Had to do a second interview with a BI. Looks like a 3rd and probably 4th poly along with medical testing is in order.

Wow. We have very similar timelines but I didn’t have to meet with a 2nd BI yet and hopefully I don’t have too. But I did do another poly and medical after submitting my SF86C.

Just wanted to give an update on my TS/SCI for other people in the same position:

TS/SCI Initial Investigation
August 2019 - Accepted job offer

September 2019 - Submitted SF-86 to FSO

October 2019 - Resubmitted SF-86 to FSO after fixing errors

Late January 2020 - CI Polygraph, favorable result

Early February 2020 - Subject Interview

Not sure what the load is in the DC/VA/MD area but I haven’t been contacted by a BI yet.
I’m currently cleared with TS/SCI but since this customer didn’t accept my crossover, they had me go through as an initial.

Nov. 2019 - Submitted SF86

I’m in the same boat as you in the same area and it took about 3 months between submission and hearing from an investigator

Are you for hire because I see that you state “my clients”? I would like to hire someone to try to get this process going when I am in limbo right now without the position I was hired for.
Thank you.

I am new to this page, however, I really liked going thru all these comments.
Anyhow Should I be worried about my TS/SCI clearance process with NSA as I was accepted in a government position.
Please help if any one has an idea or can guide me !!!

10/2017: Conditional Job Offer

02/2018: Interview with Investigator

03/2019: Contacted by NSA HR department and said that I am still in good shape and process.

10/2019: Received a response from NSA HR to senator office that I have foreign contacts.

Since than No NEWS !!!

So, should I be worry about my current application process? or do you guys thing that I should get in touch with other senator regarding my TS/SCI progress.

Thank you,

You should be good, just wait.

My timeline looks similar to yours; CJO in April 2017, poly/psych in July 2019, waiting game ever since. This is a loooong process.

LDomino,
I thought I am the only one with such condition, but seems I have a friend too !!!

Not really a club I think any of us would really ask to be in, eh? Unfortunately, it seems like once you get into the multi year wait there is no guarantee that you are close to the end, and in fact may be in for an even longer wait. I know someone who has been in processing for seven years already, with the usual “your file is currently active” response from HR every time they ask

@Longtime What prompted you to contact your investigator? Are you supposed to hear back from them after the interview?

No, you are not normally supposed to hear back from your investigator unless they need additional information from you.

When the investigator told Longtime that they submitted their report - that was only that invesitigator’s report.

Well, Just curious to know if he completed his investigation

Wow, that is too much to wait for seven years.

LDomino, did you mean that there was a 2 years period between submitting SF86 and the appointments for Poly and medical? if yes, was there any negative disclosure on your SF86?

It’s looks like we have extremely similar timelines - I’m still waiting too. Have you heard anything more? I submitted an SF86C in December also and was hoping for some good news. Would be helpful to know if someone with a similar timeline has been cleared.

I had an SF86C in February. There are some people over on federal soup who got a FJO about 2 or 3 months after their submissions, but I imagine Covid has mucked up any similar timelines.

Does anyone have any information regarding how long timelines might have been pushed back due to COVID? I’ve already been waiting so long and I can’t believe my timeline is pushed back even farther when I was hopeful it would be wrapping up soon…

Did you ask your FSO to check the system to see if you were assigned an investigator yet ? DNI has estimated that it takes a year for a clearance (before COVID-19). This coming September for me will be one year and my case was just submitted to adjudication. I believe all investigators for now are either skyping or doing phone interviews for clearances - per DOD guidance.
