I was recently laid off from my job. Am I allowed to file for unemployment benefits. I have an active TS/SCI. Will it affect my clearance? I am very concerned.
You can apply for unemployment and hopefully the employer wont try to play any games trying to make it seem like you were terminated for cause. Did you get any severance package? That can factor in to your unemployment benefits. Laws vary by state.
The only way it would affect your clearance would be if there were some allegations of misconduct. I have heard of people being laid off only to find out later that their former employer made such allegations. But that happens only in rare cases.

I think almost every state does it online now, you may not even need to go to the unemployment office.
But here’s hoping you line up something new before you get a chance to collect any unemployment checks
