So I have a co worker who’s clerance expired before they completed the SF86. If they were in the CE program, does this mean they will have to do a inital agiain or will it be able to still roll into the CE system? Also what is the turn around time for the average CE reinvestigation (renewal)?

Context, FSO messed up and submitted for their renewal with 2 months remaining. The person waited and did their sf86 at day 70 (since you have 90 days to do it). They didn’t know it was expiring and then completed it and was informed by the FSO their clearance expired already. The FSO took the sf86 and submitted it into the CE. But now we are wondering what the turn around time should be. Should we be expecting them to be able to return to full duties after like a week or two or if we need to be ready for much longer.

For non-IC DoD, I was told to expect a 2 week turnaround time.

I saw a job listing and it said the required clearance was CE with an update less than five years old.

What?

I mean, some people will fit into this category, but many won’t. I figure this must be for some SAP work they can be very fussy.

CE isn’t a clearance. It’s just continuous evaluation or vetting. Whom ever posed that job doesn’t know what they are doing. Everyone should be in CV/CE by now.
