Clearance cross over issue

I got out of the military a few months back and had an active TS/SCI clearance. I decided to spend a few months working on my degree when I got out of the military. I just finished it and began applying for jobs but my investigation for my clearance expired and whenever I am interviewed and discussing the issue with recruiters they say it’s not an issue. When I fill out the form for my clearance it comes back as “no determination” most likely because my investigation has expired. Once that shows up in the system the recruiters and companies I’m talking to say they can’t consider me anymore. I am not sure what else to do to fix this issue.

Are you getting that result from the employer? I’m not familiar with an online form to check that.

Anyway, there is supposedly some two year window where you can easily reinstate an inactive clearance… sounds like you are not feeling the love in this respect.

Have you registered for the skill bridge program or skills bridge? Not sure if you had to do that before you separated, but employers participating in that program may be better able to pick up your clearance. This can vary wildly from customer to customer. Most contractors dont want to deal with anything that looks like it might not be an easy crossover because they’re trying to fill a seat who can starting charging the contract and generate revenue (ie $$$).

Good luck, let us know what happens.
