If a company is cleared to hold a “Secret” clearance can they hire a potential employee with a higher TS/ for eyes only clearance and the new employee still be elidgable to keep his TS clearance? Or will the employee lose his/her clearance / be downgraded to a “Secret” clearance on the basis that the company is only cleared to Secret level?
A company’s facility security clearance level is determined by the security access level needed for the contract they are working on. Whenever you leave a government agency or federal contractor your clearance is administratively withdrawn and your gaining agency or company determines at what level of access you need. If you are hired on with them and need to work on the contract, then you will be reinstated to access at the Secret level.
