Hello,
I would be forever grateful for your input because I have a vague idea what could be done here. Here is my story. September 2019: started processing with a contractor for a TSC/SI for a linguist position. 2020: granted NACI and began working for a different contractor, a teaching position. February 2022 began working as a DOD/Army civilian teaching a three letter agency personnel. For this I was “vetted” for the three-letter agency. January-March 2022: while waiting for adjudication with the contractor for a linguist position, I applied for two positions with the three-letter agency directly (a linguist and an instructor) and received a conditional job offer for both. My goal was and still is to continue teaching and this was the reason for wanting to work for the agency directly. March 2022: adjudicated by the contractor for the linguist position (I just got an email, hey, you were adjudicated and that’s it, a long pause again). Meanwhile, my background investigation with the agency was still being processed. I let the contractor know that I applied with the agency when they offered to move me to the last step and explained that I had more polygraph procedures for a different investigation. They couldn’t see my latest polygraph in the system, perhaps, because the investigation was and is still active. (The final step required to provide the date of the last polygraph). I am in the adjudication phase with the agency right now. They knew everything about the processing with the contractor. A couple of months ago was also the time for re-vetting for my current teaching position with the DOD/Army. I submitted my info, and my re-vetting didn’t come through. I was explained that “the contractor has taken an owning relationship of my security record” and this showed up an as unreported employment outside of my DOD/Army/federal employment even though I have never worked for the contractor! The agency recruiter says that they are still processing me. However, I am losing my teaching job because of this. Has the contractor messed up? How come my security records show that I worked for them while I did not. Can they clear my records? I haven’t contacted them yet. I found this out today and decided to ask for advice. And the major question, will this have a bearing on my processing with the same three-letter agency that didn’t approve my re-vetting yet is still processing me? How is this even possible? I have never hidden any information from the agency and I didn’t do anything wrong and don’t understand what am I being punished for.
You didn’t list the three letter agency as your current employer, did you? I have seen that where people are (incorrectly) instructed to list it that way because “that is who the investigation is for,” even though they haven’t actually started working there yet.
The agency is still processing me, I am in the final stage after everything including a poly. Supposedly, I didn’t report my “my employment” with the contractor who sponsored me to my current employer, but I have never actually worked for the contractor. The contractor sponsored me, the I applied with the agency. The contractor claimed owning my security records and this looks like “employment” on my security records (according to the security specialist in my DOD/Army organization). Yet I have never worked for anyone else but this DOD/Army organization. The three-letter agency is the host agency for my work to be performed. I am denied re-vetting with a much lower security accesses (which doesn’t even have an official clearance name, it is called “vetting” or “re-vetting”) by this agency yet this same agency (a different department/branch I suppose) is still processing me. My recruiter is the only person I can communicate with inside the agency and the recruiter said that s/he forwarded my communication with my security specialist to my security team for their review. Can I do anything not to lose my current job?
This honestly doesn’t sound like it should be an issue. Sounds like there is some incompetence somewhere, you need to speak to security with the agency you want to work for, Recruiters mess things up all the time.
How do I find out who my security officer is? My recruiter is my only liason and s/he just ignored my email. In about a month I have to either move to a different state to continue teaching and not to lose my current job or to leave on my own accord if I ever want to come back be re-hired.
You don’t have a security person yet since you haven’t been adjudicated.
The recruiter need to want to put you incontact with adjudicator and they more than likely wont.
