To start, forgive my ignorance to the situation as I am helping out a friend.
A buddy enlisted in the army in 2020. He can’t remember if he told his recruiter about his marijuana usage. He just signed everything put in front of him but did not review. He gets out in a couple of years and wants to persue 1811 but he wants to make sure his paperwork is accurate. Who should he go to to review the paperwork and what is the process of amending it if it is incorrect?
I’d probably start by requesting a copy of my investigation from DCSA (you can Google how to do that) and see if it’s mentioned anywhere. If he got a secret clearance and never met with an investigator then it was not listed on his SF86. If he got a secret clearance and did meet with an investigator then it is possible it was listed because that issue would trigger a subject interview. If he met with an investigator it is not guaranteed it was listed however because they could have been discussing other issues that have nothing to do with drugs. If he had a TS then he would have met with an investigator either way because a subject interview is required.
